Cost of Childcare continues to rise

The Day Care Trust have recently published the findings of their 2011 survey of Childcare Costs, and it is no surprise to any working parents that costs are on the up.

Their research has shown that "Childcare costs have typically increased by more than the average wage, placing parents under further financial strain in the face of rising living costs. Most shockingly, the cost of a childminder for a child aged two and over in Scotland increased by 8.3 per cent - almost four times as much as the average wage."

With the growth in the cost of childcare rising so much more than the avergae wage is rising, it is now wonder that working parents are finding themselves squeezed.

Employers can help by setting up a Childcare Voucher Scheme, which can save a working parent £932 per year.  For more details, see our Saving Calculator at www.maximisethebenefit.co.uk/calculate-what-you-can-save-with-childcare-vouchers/
